Favorite Cuisine to Cook: Anything on the grill! Being outside and using a heat source that is never quite the same as the last time adds fun and unexpected elements.

Favorite Denver Restaurant: Los Carboncitos! Don’t sleep on the gorditas.

Favorite Cuisine to Cook: Anything I can put my own spin on! I love thinking outside the box and combining classic cooking techniques with modern gastronomy to create unique twists on classic dishes. I enjoy the artistic aspects of cooking and experimenting with new ways to combine flavors, incorporate ingredients, and present dishes.

Favorite Denver Restaurant: Woodie Fisher! Everything I have ever eaten there has been phenomenal. The chefs are extremely talented and kind, and the history of the location is very unique. The restaurant is located inside one of the oldest structures in the Union Station neighborhood; Hose House No. 1 was one of the first fire stations in Denver!

Favorite Cuisine to Cook: I really love anything that just punches you in the face with flavor. Think sour, sweet, salty, and my personal favorite, SPICY! Because of this, I love to teach our Thai and Szechuan classes.

Favorite Denver Restaurant: My favorite Denver restaurant is actually not in Denver at all! It is a little food stall in a community center called Mango House. The restaurant is called Urban Burma. GET THE TEA LEAF SALAD. Trust me, it will change your life.

Favorite Cuisine to Cook: My favorite cuisine to cook is Mexican! I grew up in New Mexico, so really this is comfort food for me! I love using the vast variety of chilies and braising meats with the abundance of Mexican spices and flavors! I also love Masa's versatility—making fresh tortillas, tamales, and sopes is fun and easy. 

Favorite Denver Restaurant: One of my favorite Denver restaurants is Bao Brewhouse on 14th. Many of their options are shareable, so you can mix and match with friends, and everything has fantastic flavor. My favorite mom and pop shop is Get Right, a bakery in Wheat Ridge with seasonal sandwiches on fresh bread, pizzas, and delicious pastries!

Favorite Cuisine to Cook: I’ve got two answers! First and foremost, I really love making and baking bread. Sourdough, focaccia, baguettes—you name it. It’s science mixed with art in the most perfect, edible way, and there’s nothing better than fresh bread straight out of the oven with a little butter. Nothing better! I also have a deep love for Italian food. It’s the perfect blend of comfort and culinary skill; from arrabbiata to zozzona, every dish somehow feels like home. Pretty sure my Nonna would smack me with a wooden spoon if I said anything different.

Favorite Denver Restaurant: It’s hard to pick just one—we’ve got a lot of great food in Denver, and I love to eat! But if you’re forcing me to name one, it’s probably Johnny Bechamel’s. They have excellent fresh-made pastas, quality pizza, and the best Parmesan-filled doughnuts you’ve ever had. Honestly, I’d go just for the doughnuts. They’re really that good!

Favorite Cuisine to Cook: I love teaching our French classes because of the classic techniques and how much French cuisine impacts so many other styles of cooking.

Favorite Denver Restaurant: I think we have a ton of great restaurants in Denver. I always love supporting local businesses and feeling connected to a greater culinary experience. My favorite restaurant locally is either Potager or Table 6. Both places have such a warm and inviting atmosphere. The people are great and the food is always delicious.

Christian

Favorite Cuisine to Cook: When I learned to cook Ethiopian food from a husband-and-wife team in D.C., I fell in love with the multi-layered spice blends and slow, intentional cooking process behind the country's delicious sauces and stews.


Favorite Denver Restaurant: MAKfam at 1st and Broadway has a lovely array of Chinese-inspired dishes — from stir-fried greens to a scallion pancake sandwich — paired with fun cocktails served in cute mugs and glasses.
